Duke researchers utilized AirPrep™ Samplers to investigate the impact of outdoor air pollution on the gut microbiome which modulates a variety of human health outcomes, through zebrafish toxicology methods. The research was initiated by the need for a high volume, low-cost, and reproducible standard air sampling methods that can be paired with biological assays. The AirPrep™ Bobcat and Cub samplers met their requirements using InnovaPrep's new specially formulated Tween-free elution buffer.
"Our results show AirPrep Bobcat and its sister product, The AirPrep Cub, provide affordable and feasible method for collection air to use in both biological assays and sequencing."
Their work was presented in a poster at the 2023 ASM Microbe Meeting and titled "Validating an affordable and reproducible outdoor air sampling method for in vivo and molecular biology experiments” presented by Eva Kim.
